BCCI considering whether matches in THESE two states can be held

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to take center stage in the cricketing field in the coming months.

In current events, BCCI is preparing to hold the IPL 2021 in Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The four stadiums in Mumbai are likely to host the group stage matches, while the Sardar Patel stadium in Motera has been upgraded to host the playoffs and the finals. The T20 League is scheduled to commence in mid-April or the second week of April.

The 2021 season mini-auction took place on 18 February in Chennai. There is also no news as to whether or not India will host the cash-rich league this season.

BCCI recently held a domestic T20 tournament – the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy behind closed doors in India, while the Vijay Hazare Trophy is currently taking place in India. With the two tournaments hosting smoothly, BCCI is looking at the prospect of hosting a cash-rich T20 tournament in India this time after the 2020 edition of Covid-19’s move to the United Arab Emirates in India.

BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal said last month that the 2021 IPL will be held in India. “As of now, it has been agreed that the IPL shall take place in India. If the same situation prevails (with the decline in Covid-19 cases in India), it should happen in India,” Dhumal told IANS in January.
